dog days

i had not moved the beer bottles, so when i kicked the fan off my bedside table, one smashed across the floor. brown glass hides on the hardwood, the fan still spinning.

This is just to say

I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox

and which

saving
for breakfast
